Work ethic is learned, not common sense.

FUN FACT: What’s common sense to you isn’t common sense to everyone else. 👇🏻

.

My precious 19 year old son has begun the journey of being on his own and recently earned a promotion at his job. When I

told him how amazing he is at such a young age, he said “Mom, I learned my strong work ethic from you and doesn’t everyone know to work hard, do things when not asked, and be trusted?”.

.

I said 100% not.

Most people have not been taught or modeled those character skills and that I was so proud of him for demonstrating all of those traits.

.

Beyond being a super proud mama, I strive everyday as a leader to model those character values while also ensuring I’m hiring first for character and second for skill.

.

If you’re in a position of leadership, model those traits. Because indeed, that’s not “common sense” to everyone. ✨
